Job summary

Fusion Recruiters is seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer to drive mechanical product development from concept through testing and production. You will own projects and collaborate with Manufacturing, Quality, and suppliers to ensure performance, durability, and value.

The role requires a strong engineering background, hands-on prototyping, DFMA expertise, and a track record of bringing durable products to production across diverse applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Experience with mechanically loaded products, tools, mechanisms, or durable products.
• Ability to independently manage multiple projects from concept to production.
• Strong knowledge of materials, mechanics, dynamics, DFMA, failure analysis, wear and lubrication.
• Hands-on prototyping, measurement, testing, and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical product development projects from concept to production implementation.
• Develop and evaluate design concepts using prototyping, experimentation, and product testing.
• Design and improve mechanisms with a focus on performance, reliability, durability, manufacturability, and cost.
• Establish fits, tolerances, specs, and tolerance stack‑ups considering manufacturing variation.
• Create and maintain detailed 2D/3D CAD models, drawings, and specifications.
• Apply DFMA principles and collaborate with manufacturing, quality, suppliers.
