Senior Mechanical Project Engineer sought to own design, development, and execution of complex machinery. This hands-on role requires leading projects from concept through final assembly and testing at a confidential facility in Southeast Michigan.

Collaborate with designers, controls engineers, and manufacturers, translate customer specs into reliable mechanical solutions, and guide the team through engineering changes while meeting delivery schedules.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of mechanical design or engineering experience in custom machinery.
• Proficient with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo).
• Experience designing mechanical assemblies and equipment.
• Ability to interpret detailed drawings and GD&T.
• Experience coordinating with engineering and manufacturing teams.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead technical projects end-to-end.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering projects from concept through design, assembly, testing, and completion.
• Remain actively involved in mechanical design, engineering reviews, and technical problem-solving.
• Develop, review, and modify 3D CAD models, assemblies, and drawings.
• Collaborate with designers, controls engineers, manufacturing personnel, and machine builders.
• Translate customer specifications into practical, reliable mechanical solutions.
• Identify and resolve design issues involving functionality, tolerances, and manufacturability.
• Support equipment assembly, testing, troubleshooting, and startup activities.
• Coordinate engineering changes and provide technical direction throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure projects meet technical specs, quality, and delivery schedules.
• Provide guidance to engineering team members when needed.
