Amazon Data Services, Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Senior Product Design Mechanical Engineer with diesel generator experience to support our Electrical Products and Services team for AWS data centers.

You will lead design, qualification and collaboration with global suppliers to ensure safe, reliable power distribution equipment. The role requires strong mechanical/electrical knowledge, DFx/value engineering, and coordination across multiple geographies.

Formación

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities experience.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.

Responsabilidades

• Work with internal partner teams to solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design.
• Lead new product design, development and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers with primary focus on backup power generation, specifically diesel generators, enclosures, and aftertreatment systems, as well as connecting dependencies with other electrical equipment.
• Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify appropriate equipment and components, ensuring tier 2-3 supply chain resiliency.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and federal, state and municipal requirements and building codes across different countries through appropriate levels of testing.
• Validate design through prototype, pre-production and first-of-kind builds, conducting DFx and value engineering analysis through each step and updating design and documentation.
• Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to properly test and validate installation, operation, and performance of AWS products.
• Ability to provide support for manufacturing activities for the new products on concurrent projects in multiple geographical locations.
• Be a leader within the product development team as well as within internal and external teams that support the data center.
