Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is hiring a Senior Product Design Electrical Engineer with diesel generator experience for the Electrical Products and Services team. This role focuses on designing resilient, cost-effective electrical distribution products for AWS data centers while maintaining uptime and scalability across a global footprint.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation, or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment.

Responsibilities

• Define design requirements for product design with internal partner teams.
• Lead new product design and qualification for electrical power distribution equipment focusing on diesel generators and related systems.
• Collaborate with global suppliers to ensure supply chain resiliency.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and codes across countries through testing.
• Validate designs through prototypes, pre-production, and DFx and value engineering.
• Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to test and validate installation and performance.
• Provide support for manufacturing activities on concurrent projects in multiple locations.
• Lead within the product development team and internal/external teams.
