Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. seeks a Senior Product Design Mechanical Engineer with diesel generator experience to advance electrical distribution products for AWS data centers.

You will drive design from concept through qualification, collaborating with global suppliers and internal teams to ensure safety, reliability, and cost efficiency. You’ll lead cross-functional efforts, manage complex projects across multiple geographies, and contribute to ongoing improvements in data center infrastructure

Qualifications

• 6+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or similar.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience developing solutions and executing plans on complex projects.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittals.

Responsibilities

• Solicit customer input and define design requirements for product design.
• Lead new product design, development and qualification of critical electrical power distribution equipment for AWS data centers.
• Coordinate with global suppliers to ensure supply chain resiliency.
• Ensure compliance with UL, CSA, IEC and federal/state codes across countries via testing.
• Validate design through prototypes and DFx/value engineering analyses.
• Collaborate with field engineering and commissioning teams to test and validate installations.
• Provide support for manufacturing activities on concurrent projects in multiple locations.
• Lead the product development team and cross-functional partners.
