Job summary

The Reserves Network in Danbury, CT is seeking a Mechanical Product Development Engineer to lead hands-on design and development of electromechanical products. You will own projects from concept to production, designing plastic enclosures and precision components using 3D CAD, GD&T, and DFM principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical design and product development experience
• Strong experience designing injection-molded plastic components and assemblies
• Proficiency with 3D CAD software, GD&T, and design for manufacturability
• Demonstrated ability to independently lead technical projects from concept through production

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical product development activities from initial concept through design validation and production release
• Design plastic enclosures, mechanical assemblies, precision components, and related product features using 3D CAD software
• Apply injection molding principles, material selection, and DFM practices to improve product quality, performance, and manufacturability
• Develop detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation using GD&T
• Take ownership of assigned mechanical designs, making technical recommendations and driving engineering decisions
• Coordinate prototype development, product testing, design verification, and corrective actions
• Collaborate with international engineering teams, suppliers, manufacturing, and quality to support successful product launches
• Provide technical guidance to other engineers and participate in design reviews and engineering discussions
