Job summary

HDR, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical/Process Engineer to support LNG, industrial gas, and hydrocarbon projects across North America. The role emphasizes strong core mechanical design and the expansion into LNG/cryogenic expertise.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team delivering design services for energy facilities, including life extension and new builds. The successful candidate will lead projects and mentor others, with opportunities to grow in a collaborative, employee-owned

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
At least 10 years in mechanical system design for commercial or institutional buildings.
Professional Engineer (PE) license recognized by jurisdiction.
Strong knowledge of MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD.
Demonstrated leadership, team coordination and project management experience.
Experience with architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firms.
Commitment to HDR's employee-owned culture.

Responsibilities

Develop mechanical/Process designs including P&IDs, equipment sizing and calculations.
Prepare specifications and support procurement.
Perform pipe stress analysis (AutoPIPE) and evaluations.
Support feasibility studies, conceptual design and cost estimating.
Serve as mechanical lead on multiple projects with cross-functional teams.
Support bid evaluations, vendor coordination and contractor interactions.
Provide field support with site visits, inspections, and commissioning/start-up.
