Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group in Reston, VA, is seeking a Mechanical Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects from design through commissioning. This role requires strong leadership and a deep understanding of HVAC and plumbing systems.

Based at our HQ with 30–40% travel to DMV-area sites, you will oversee scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration, delivering high-quality mechanical projects on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Project Management experience in commercial construction, MEP contracting, or with a General Contractor.
• Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and MEP systems.
• Experience managing projects ranging from $2M to $50M+ preferred.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, procurement, and contract administration.
• Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar construction management software.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical project management for commercial construction projects.

• Coordinate HVAC and plumbing system installations with field teams.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously and report progress to stakeholders.
