Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is an industry leader in HVAC and Plumbing, delivering commercial projects from upfits to design-build. The assistant project manager role supports coordination, documentation, and site work while traveling 30-40% across the DMV area.

Based at our Sterling, VA HQ, you’ll work with experienced teams to drive project success and client satisfaction. We seek candidates with 2 years in project coordination or construction admin, strong communication, and familiarity

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience as a Project Coordinator or Construction administrative role.
• Familiar with methods, equipment, and tools used in the HVAC service and installation trade.
• Must have at least a high school degree, or G.E.D.
• Must have superior communication and interpersonal skills (tact, diplomacy, influence, etc.)
• Excellent communication and relationship management skills
• Familiarity with mechanical drawings and commercial construction projects
• Basic proficiency in MS Word and MS Excel. Experience with industry software such as: ProCore, Bluebeam, Revue, Revit, AutoCad, is a plus
• Able to understand and manage job deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist project manager in coordinating mechanical construction projects.
• Review and maintain mechanical drawings and submittals.
• Monitor project schedules and deadlines.
• Support on-site coordination during site visits.
• Communicate with clients, vendors and field teams.
