Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Product Lifecycle Mechanical Engineer for its Data Center Engineering (DCE) mechanical products.

You will own and improve mechanical infrastructure across AWS data centers, collaborating with global teams to innovate, test, and support products through their life cycle. The role requires hands-on mechanical experience, strong PLM skills, and the ability to coordinate with suppliers and OEMs across multiple regions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of critical data center mechanical/electrical equipment and hands-on troubleshooting experience.
  • 6+ years of experience developing mechanical/cooling products and launching them into production.
  • 6+ years of project experience with cooling systems or components.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management and related systems.

Responsibilities

  • Possess strong engineering judgement and provide recommendations despite uncertainty.
  • Detail and data oriented.
  • Experience with Product Lifecycle Management Systems.
  • Experience in Mechanical Engineering and/or Mechanical Products.
  • Collaborate with global mechanical equipment suppliers and manufacturers.
  • Build trust and relationships with stakeholders (reliability, operations, design, compliance).
  • Work on concurrent projects in multiple geographic zones.
  • Explain complex systems in clear language.
  • Support Operations including failure analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting for mechanical/electrical issues.
  • Listen to customer feedback to improve reliability or availability.
  • Design product improvements with global suppliers and oversee root cause analysis.
  • Contribute to global knowledge and drive continuous improvement at scale.
