Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a global data center engineering team responsible for design and continuous innovation within our expanding footprint.

You will design liquid or air cooling equipment and supporting infrastructure, coordinating with Product Design, Civil Structural Design, and Field/Operations teams. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and 6+ years in industrial or commercial product engineering for mission-critical

Qualifications

• Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, into deployment or mass production.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment.
• Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.
• 6+ years of industrial or commercial product engineering in mission-critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or related).

Responsibilities

• Define and design liquid or air cooling equipment and related infrastructure.
• Collaborate with internal and external ecosystem partners to design and develop data center product solutions.
• Support field engineering and data center operation teams for root cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Leverage economy of scale through standardization and modularization of data center products.
• Maintain and develop technical design procedures associated with piping and pipe support analysis.
• Provide subject matter expertise to peers, senior management and partner teams.
• Develop business justification and narratives to promote new concepts.
• Lead key initiatives for the organization with ownership.
• Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify mechanical sub components.
• Provide product design support to team members.
• Write functional specs, design verification plans, and test procedures.
• Travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
