Job summary

Pritchard Industries is seeking a New York State Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to lead mechanical engineering, building infrastructure, and capital improvement projects across New York City and Long Island. This role combines technical design with project management, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, contractor coordination, and construction oversight.

Qualifications

• Must hold a NY PE license and a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of six years of mechanical engineering experience with project management exposure.
• Strong knowledge of NYC and NYS building/mechanical codes and permitting.
• Experience with HVAC, central plant, and building infrastructure projects.
• Willingness to travel to sites across NYC and Long Island.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, coordination, and execution of mechanical system upgrades and capital projects.
• Develop drawings, specs, calculations, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Assess HVAC, boilers, chillers, pumps, piping, and controls for performance and energy efficiency.
• Manage budgets, schedules, procurement, change orders, and overall delivery.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with NYC/NY codes and project contractual requirements.
• Support bidding, procurement, and technical evaluations.
• Oversee site assessments, inspections, RFIs, submittals, and punch lists.
