Job summary

Pritchard Industries, Inc. is seeking a New York State Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) to lead mechanical engineering, building infrastructure, and capital improvement projects across New York City and Long Island.

This role blends advanced engineering with project management, from planning through closeout. The ideal candidate will have deep knowledge of commercial/institutional mechanical systems, NYC building codes, and a proven ability to manage complex projects while maintaining safety,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• Active New York State PE license.
• Minimum of six years’ mechanical engineering experience with project management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of NYC and NYS building and mechanical codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, design, coordination, and execution of mechanical system upgrades and capital projects.
• Develop engineering drawings, specs, calculations, feasibility studies, and cost estimates.
• Assess HVAC, central plants, and building systems for performance and energy efficiency.
• Manage project scope, budgets, schedules, procurement, change orders, and delivery.
• Coordinate with architects, consulting engineers, contractors, vendors, and regulatory agencies.
• Ensure compliance with codes, quality and safety standards; oversee construction, commissioning and closeout.
