Job summary

nVent seeks a senior mechanical product development engineer to lead complex NPI initiatives across ERICO, ILSCO and ERIFLEX portfolios. You will drive mechanical architecture decisions, guide cross-functional teams, and ensure robust design validation, certification, and launch readiness.

The role emphasizes ownership of engineering scope, collaboration with product management, and a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes for global electrical connections offerings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 5+ years of related product development experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; detail-oriented teamwork.
• Proficient in SolidWorks assemblies, modeling, drawings, and ENOVIA PLM.
• Experience with UL, IEEE, IEC compliance and global coordination.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end mechanical system development for NPI.
• Translate requirements into workstreams with milestones.
• Validate designs via testing, prototyping, and certification.
• Coordinate third-party compliance and performance conformance.
• Support launch readiness with commercial teams and training.
• Provide technical leadership in design reviews and FMEAs.
• Drive risk mitigation and identify technical risks early.
• Lead advanced research to de-risk materials and processes.
