Job summary

nVent’s ILSCO team in Blue Ash, Ohio seeks a senior mechanical engineer to lead engineering projects across ILSCO and UTILCO power connection solutions. You’ll drive design decisions, mentor engineers, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to accelerate portfolio growth and roadmap execution.

Ideal candidate has a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 7+ years of experience, and strong proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM/PLM. Travel up to 20% may be required in a fast-paced, high-impact role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 7+ years of proven experience in a related engineering field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient in SolidWorks assemblies, modeling, drawings, and PDM/PLM systems.

Responsibilities

• Portfolio Ownership & Sustaining Engineering: lead technical design and continuous improvement for ILSCO/UTILCO products.
• Product Line Expansion & NPI: drive product extensions from concept to commercialization and validate via testing and certification.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: manage global teams, lead design reviews, and coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, Sourcing, and Sales.
• Technical Expertise: mentor engineers, develop specs, tests, and validation plans, ensure standards compliance.
• Customer & Business Engagement: act as SME for customers and channel partners, support business case development.
