Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson is seeking a Mechanical Manufacturing Operations Supervisor to oversee daily mechanical assembly operations at 10750 Telge Road, Houston, TX. The role focuses on efficient workflow, quality output, and strict safety adherence while coordinating assembly personnel and resources.

The supervisor will drive continuous improvement, manage workloads, and maintain accurate labor tracking, reporting to production leadership and ensuring on-time, high-quality results.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with 5–10 years of related manufacturing experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Standards and blueprints reading.
• Experience supervising 20+ people in a mechanical assembly setting.
• Ability to motivate staff and manage workload to meet production targets.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily operations of the mechanical assembly production team.
• Distribute workload to ensure production targets are met.
• Lead daily pre-shift meetings to set expectations and assign tasks.
• Manage personnel time in the ERP system to optimize efficiency.
• Provide leadership to shop leads and assembly personnel for quality and safety.
• Analyze work orders and blueprints to determine materials and sequence.
• Provide updates to Production Manager on project progress.
• Requisition shop supplies when needed.
• Improve or develop new assembly methods and procedures.
• Ensure safety training and meetings are provided and adhered to.
