Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson is hiring a Mechanical Manufacturing Operations Supervisor in Houston, TX. The role oversees daily mechanical assembly, ensuring quality and safety while coordinating a team of 20+ staff and managing labor in the ERP system.

You will read and interpret blueprints, drive improvements in methods, and align resources with production goals. Strong ASME knowledge and a GED/HS diploma are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 5–10 years of related experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Standards.
• Experience supervising 20+ people.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily mechanical assembly operations and oversee production targets.
• Balance workloads and coordinate assignments for the assembly team.
• Lead daily pre-shift meetings to set expectations and tasks.
• Manage labor tracking in the ERP system to optimize utilization.
• Provide guidance to leads and staff to ensure quality and safety.
• Review work orders and blueprints to plan materials and sequence.
• Communicate progress to Production Manager and planning groups.
• Requisition shop supplies as needed and support continuous improvement.
• Ensure safety training and adherence to health and safety procedures.
