Job summary

Stewart & Stevenson is hiring a Mechanical Manufacturing Operations Supervisor for the Houston area. The role oversees daily mechanical assembly operations at 10750 Telge Road, Houston, TX 77095, ensuring efficient workflow, quality output, and strict safety adherence.

Responsibilities include supervising staff, workload balancing, and continuous improvement of assembly methods. You will lead by example, manage ERP time tracking, coordinate with production leadership, and drive on-time delivery

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 5–10 years related experience.
• Strong knowledge of ASME Standards.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Supervisory experience of 20+ people.
• Experience with engine rebuild/repair, power transmissions, mechanical/hydraulic repair and rebuild, air systems, hydraulic systems, and Oilfield equipment preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication with staff.
• Motivate team to achieve production goals and plan work activities.
• Lead by example with commitment, respect, and accountability.
• Detail-oriented with focus on accuracy and quality.
• Adaptable and able to handle changes and delays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise daily mechanical assembly production operations and ensure targets are met.
• Manage workload distribution to meet production goals.
• Conduct daily start-of-day meetings to set expectations and assign tasks.
• Track shop personnel time in the ERP system daily for optimal utilization.
• Provide leadership to shop leads and assembly personnel for quality and safety.
• Analyze work orders and blueprints to determine supplies and sequence of operations.
• Provide progress updates to Production Manager.
• Requisition shop supplies as needed.
• Improve or develop assembly methods and procedures.
• Ensure safety training and resources are provided to staff.
• Maintain a strong safety culture and adherence to health and safety procedures.
• All other duties as assigned.
