Job summary

Anduril Industries, Inc. is setting up the first U.S. Dive-XL production line at Quonset Point, Rhode Island.

This senior manufacturing engineer will own how major structures are built, from first article to rate production, collaborating with design, supply chain, quality and technicians on the floor. You will set up processes from scratch with autonomy, mentoring early-career engineers, and you will travel to the Sydney facility as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing or industrial engineering.
• 5+ years of manufacturing or production engineering on complex mechanical hardware.
• A product or major assembly you owned in production from start to finish.
• Root cause analysis using 5 Whys, fishbone or 8D with corrective actions.
• Lean and continuous improvement projects on a production line.
• Reading complex drawings with GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
• Experience with ERP/MES tools like Oracle or Teamcenter.
• Able to explain problems to technicians and program managers quickly.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead root cause on assembly problems, deviations, tooling failures and nonconforming parts; implement fixes in the process.
• Be the first contact for technicians on mechanical build issues and resolve line-down problems quickly.
• Update manufacturing BOMs in Teamcenter and routings in ArsenalOS; manage WIP decisions.
• Own work instructions and SOPs for assemblies for on-the-floor use.
• Design fixtures, lifting equipment and tooling for large structures in NX.
• Track yield, throughput, scrap and labor hours; lead corrective projects.
• Layout workstations, material flow and procure heavy equipment and automation.
• Drive DFM/DFA with design team; push back on unbuildable features with data.
• Use AI tools to build Python scripts, dashboards and small apps.
• Mentor junior engineers and technicians on build methods.
• Travel to Sydney factory when work calls.
