Job summary

Carpenter Technology Corporation in Reading, PA, is seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to coordinate preventive and shutdown activities, ensuring that resources, drawings, materials, and safety procedures are prepared ahead of scheduling.

You will collaborate with maintenance coordinators, engineering, vendors, procurement and production to enable safe, reliable, and cost-efficient work while following established work-management processes.

Qualifications

• 5 years' experience as qualified craft personnel (Mechanical Discipline) in a heavy industrial environment.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent technical and operational knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electronic equipment and systems.
• Develop formal Knowledge and gain certification in Shutdown Planning.
• Develop formal Maintenance Planning knowledge and gain certification in Maintenance Planning and Scheduling.
• Knowledgeable in TPM/LEAN preferred.
• Strong continuous improvement and project/program management skills.
• Proactive problem-solving skills with the ability to recommend and implement solutions.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical circuitry diagrams and drawings preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Plan maintenance activities for the assigned Area Maintenance team, including resources, drawings, manuals and lock out procedures.
• Coordinate with Maintenance Coordinator, Engineering, external vendors and contractors, warehouse, procurement and Production to ensure resources are available before execution.
• Ensure work is performed safely, reliably, and cost-effectively in line with work-management processes.
