Job summary

The Chemours Washington Works facility in Parkersburg, WV is seeking a Sr. Maintenance Engineer - Mechanical to join the Maintenance Engineering team.

This role leads mechanical optimization for fixed and rotating equipment and coordinates with operations to sustain plant reliability in a high-visibility setting. The position requires a ABET-accredited mechanical engineering degree and at least five years of experience, with strong data-driven problem solving, communication, and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical engineering from ABET accredited university.
• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience.
• Ability to diagnose and solve technical problems with data-based decisions.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Willing to wear required PPE (steel toes, hard hat, Nomex, eye protection, respirators).

Responsibilities

• Support high quality, efficient field execution of mechanical maintenance work.
• Develop Job Plans, Procedures and Execution Standards.
• Lead troubleshooting and supports Root Cause Analysis for larger events.
• Possess deep knowledge of fixed and rotating equipment and repairs.
• Collaborate with Mechanics, Operations and other engineers.
• Improve work execution and standardization.
• Implement smaller Change of Designs (CODs) in the plant.
