Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Casper, WY is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Team Lead to guide a design group on heavy industrial projects (power, oil & gas, chemical). You will supervise design activities, perform analyses, and coordinate with clients and suppliers in a hybrid work setting.

The role requires ABET-accredited degree, PE preferred, and 5+ years in mechanical design of systems for large plants. Advanced scripting skills are valued for automation of tasks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's preferred.
• PE license preferred.
• 5+ years in mechanical design for heavy industrial plants with integrated, detailed system design.
• Ability to lead preliminary engineering studies evaluating multiple solutions.
• Strong technical writing and BOM/equipment list experience.
• 3+ years leading an engineering design team on capital projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design efforts for a team of engineers and designers.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve mechanical issues on challenging projects.
• Act as Mechanical team lead for detailed design phases.
• Develop integrated systems designs and supporting calculations.
• Prepare specifications for mechanical equipment and studies.
• Coordinate with clients, project managers, and suppliers for timely design.
• Review existing facilities for upgrades and present findings.
• Mentor less experienced engineers and share knowledge.
