Job summary

Sargent & Lundy in Casper, WY is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead design efforts for a team of engineers and designers. The role involves solving complex mechanical issues, coordinating detailed design phases, and developing integrated systems with supporting calculations.

The position requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (ABET-accredited) with 5+ years of heavy industrial plant experience; PE license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• PE License is preferred.
• Five+ years of experience in design of mechanical systems for heavy industrial plants.
• Experience includes equipment selection, piping materials, control philosophy, and specs.
• Ability to lead preliminary engineering studies evaluating multiple solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering design for a team of engineers and designers.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and solve a wide range of mechanical issues.
• Act as Mechanical team lead in detailed design phases.
• Develop integrated systems designs and supporting calculations.
• Prepare technical specifications for equipment.
• Prepare engineering studies.
• Review work for accuracy and compliance.
• Coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, and suppliers.
• Propose upgrades and replacements for existing facilities.
• Mentor less-experienced engineers and share knowledge.
