Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Mechanical Systems Operator to oversee the operation, monitoring, and maintenance of critical facility HVAC and mechanical systems. The role ensures reliable performance, regulatory compliance, and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities include system monitoring via SCADA, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination with engineers. A TS/SCI clearance is required for eligibility, with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum ten years of experience on mechanical HVAC systems and related controls.
• Two years monitoring and controlling major facility mechanical systems (chillers, air handlers, pumps, motors, SCADA).
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for complex mechanical systems.
• Familiarity with SCADA or similar monitoring platforms.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Clearance TS/SCI.
• EPA Universal or equivalent HVAC certifications.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor major mechanical systems (HVAC, chillers, pumps, and motors) using SCADA.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance for peak performance.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical system issues and coordinate repairs.
• Ensure safety, codes, and regulatory compliance via audits.
• Maintain logs and reports on operations, inspections, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and maintenance teams; communicate status and risks.
