Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC and mechanical engineering for complex EPC projects. The role involves designing, specifying, and integrating HVAC systems, coordinating with multiple disciplines, and supporting construction and commissioning.

You will mentor junior engineers, manage vendor interactions, and ensure quality, schedule, and budget objectives are met in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 12+ years of professional engineering experience.
• Experience in EPC/EPCm or with a chemical process industry.
• HVAC system design and engineering expertise.
• Proven ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and BIM workflows.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical and HVAC scope for projects and mentor junior engineers.
• Develop HVAC equipment specs, data sheets, and requisitions.
• Perform HVAC system sizing and equipment selection.
• Integrate HVAC equipment into 3D models and BIM processes.
• Review layouts, supports, and access for safe, maintainable installations.
• Coordinate with structural, electrical, instrumentation, controls, architecture, and construction teams.
• Participate in vendor evaluations and review vendor documentation.
