Job summary

Black & Veatch Special Projects Corp. is seeking a Mechanical HVAC / Plumbing Engineer to design for a variety of buildings in the Federal market. You will lead HVAC and plumbing design efforts, produce drawings and specifications, and review submittals for new and existing facilities.

This role emphasizes collaboration, leadership, and adherence to codes. The candidate should have 5+ years of related experience, a bachelor’s in engineering, and active licensure to support engineer of record.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited program.
• Active engineering registration or licensure to support engineer of record (EOR) requirements.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring project compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Create and maintain project schedules for small to mid-size projects.
• Create and maintain mechanical project execution plan / forecast team member support for assigned projects.
• Manage project team’s scope, schedule, budget and quality on assigned projects.
• Assists in the production of HVAC and plumbing system deliverables (specifications, drawings, calculations, and basis of design documents).
• Reviews less experienced engineers’ work for accuracy and coordination.
• Actively coordinates with other disciplines, clients, and contractor on projects.
• Mentors staff and shares knowledge.
