Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Welding Supervisor to plan, allocate and supervise the welding, pipe insulation, steam fitting, cutting and brazing tasks on construction sites. You will analyze work orders and blueprints to determine material needs and sequencing of operations.

The role requires 5–7 years of related experience, proficiency in TIG and stick welding, ability to read plans, and the capability to lead a crew in safe installations while meeting deadlines.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of related work experience or equivalent
• Must TIG and stick weld on stainless/carbon pipe
• Must pass required weld tests and read/writes clearly
• Must be able to work outside craft and climb/bend/reach repeatedly
• Must lift up to 50 pounds and work in varying environments

Responsibilities

• Determine sequence of installations by reading plans and working drawings
• Supervise pipefitting crew in safe installation and assembly of piping systems
• Inspect work in progress and completed work for conformance to specs and codes
• Make, repair and maintain welding equipment used in welding processes
• Work efficiently to complete work within deadlines
• Train workers in equipment operation and safety
