Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks an experienced welder to lay out, fit, and weld fabricated components to form structural shapes. You will prepare welds to specifications, align parts, and operate several welding processes while maintaining safety and quality.

The role requires reading blueprints, setting up equipment, and inspecting welds across flat, vertical, or overhead positions. Candidates must be 18+, pass tests, and work outdoors as required.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be able to TIG and stick weld on stainless and/or carbon.
• Must pass required weld tests.
• Must read and interpret blueprints and lay out parts.
• Must wear protective safety gear at all times.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts prior to welding.
• Weld components using multiple welding processes as specified.
• Set up and adjust welding equipment for amperage, voltage, and polarity.
• Inspect welds for bead size and conformance to specs.
• Maintain a safe work environment and follow project rules.
• May prepare broken parts and perform routine maintenance on tools.
