Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled supervisor to oversee crews fabricating, assembling, and installing piping and equipment for gas, steam, hot water, and fire-sprinkler systems.

You will ensure safety, assign tasks, inspect work, and coordinate with other crafts to meet schedules. The ideal candidate reads blueprints, understands rigging, and leads with a focus on quality and productivity in industrial settings.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must pass written PF test.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor.
• Utilize basic math to solve geometric problems related to Pipe Fitting.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments.
• Must be willing to work outside of craft.
• Candidate may pass a drug test and criminal background check as required.

Responsibilities

• Assign workers to specific duties.
• Inspect completed systems for conformance to specifications.
• Knowledgeable of rigging systems and pipe installation.
• May supervise maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure welders are certified in appropriate procedures.
• Train subordinates in job-specific requirements.
• Maintain time and productivity records.
• Confer with other crafts to coordinate activities.
• Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders.
• Establish or adjust work procedures to meet schedules.
• Recommend measures to improve productivity and quality.
• Study construction schedule and estimate work-hour requirements.
