Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is hiring a Pipe Welder to lay out, fit and weld fabricated components on job sites, following blueprints and welding procedures to achieve high-quality results.

You will operate electric arc welding equipment and ensure safe, timely completion of assignments. The role requires TIG and stick welding on stainless and/or carbon materials, reading measurements, and strict adherence to safety practices.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must pass required weld tests (varies per site).
• Must be able to TIG and stick weld on stainless and/or carbon.
• Must be willing to work outside craft.
• Ability to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisor and co-workers.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align, and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly.
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure to ensure conformance.
• Weld components using arc welding equipment per procedures or blueprints.
• Observe safety and project rules in all activities.
• Work in various positions: flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead.
