Job summary

Cspeed IO is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to own structural FEA for optical engine packages, focusing on warpage prediction, interconnect stress, and life-cycle reliability. You will work closely with photonic design teams to ensure mechanical and optical performance meet qualification criteria across assembly stages.

The role requires a PhD/MS in mechanical disciplines, 6+ years in semiconductor packaging FEA, and hands-on experience with nonlinear material behavior and fatigue life

Qualifications

• 6+ years of structural FEA for semiconductor packaging.

Responsibilities

• Predict warpage at multiple assembly stages (bonding, reflow, underfill cure, encapsulation, lid attach, singulation).
• Analyze stress in micro-bump, copper pillar, C4, and second-level interconnects; assess fatigue and reliability.
• Define modeling standards and provide design guidance during architecture definition; work with suppliers and OSATs.
