Job summary

C&S Companies in San Diego seeks a Senior Project Engineer to support the SESW Facilities team. Licensed mechanical engineer with a strong BD focus and the ability to produce high-quality Revit designs will help grow the California market by building client relationships, shaping opportunities, and supporting proposals throughout project delivery.

The role requires hands-on engineering leadership, including design production, coordination, quality review, and coordination across disciplines

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in California required.
• 8+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experience in facilities/building systems.
• Experience with HVAC, plumbing, mechanical equipment, and building-systems analysis.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, including independent production of models and documents.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary design teams and working directly with clients and project stakeholders.
• Proven business development experience including client relationships, opportunity identification, proposals, and interviews.
• Strong understanding of the California facilities market and procurement practices.
• Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel locally and regionally as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support business development activities for mechanical facilities services throughout California.
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients, owners, architects, contractors, industry partners, and other stakeholders.
• Identify emerging market opportunities, client needs, procurement trends, and competitive conditions in the California facilities market.
• Provide market insights to SESW Facilities leadership, including prospective client intelligence and strategic pursuits.
• Support go/no-go evaluations, capture planning, proposal development, interview preparation, and client presentations.
• Represent C&S at client meetings, industry events, and networking opportunities.
• Partner with technical and operational leadership to develop pursuit strategies and position C&S for long-term client relationships.
• Serve as a senior mechanical engineer for facilities projects from planning through design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.
• Independently produce mechanical design documents, calculations, specs, schedules, and construction details using Revit.
• Coordinate models with architectural/structural/electrical/civil disciplines and resolve design conflicts.
• Conduct site investigations, field verifications, and client coordination meetings.
• Support preparation of project scopes, budgets, schedules, and work plans.
• Review deliverables for technical accuracy, code compliance, and constructability.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and designers.
• Support construction-phase services including RFIs, submittal reviews, site observations, and commissioning coordination.
