Job summary

Holmberg Mechanical, a premier Washington mechanical contractor, seeks a Mechanical Estimator to develop HVAC, plumbing, and piping estimates from conceptual budgeting through final bid. You will collaborate with estimating, sales, engineering, and operations teams to translate drawings, specs, and cost data into clear pricing and proposal strategy.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years of relevant experience, proficiency with QuoteSoft and Excel, and the ability to manage multiple bid deadlines on

Qualifications

• Five or more years of mechanical construction estimating experience.
• Ability to read drawings, specs, and contract docs to prepare complete estimates.
• Proficient with QuoteSoft or comparable estimating software and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Review plans and bid documents to define scope, risks, and deliverables.
• Perform takeoffs and prepare labor, material, equipment, and subcost estimates.
• Develop budgets from limited design information using historical data.
• Prepare estimate summaries, bid tabs, alternates, and scope narratives.
• Conduct pre-bid site visits and document conditions and impacts.
• Evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for pricing and risk.
• Collaborate with Estimating Manager, project teams, and vendors throughout preconstruction.
• Participate in estimate reviews and support bid strategy and value engineering.
