Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Permanent Mechanical Construction Estimator with a strong background in HVAC and pipe fitting to join our Baltimore/DC area team. You will estimate mechanical projects up to $10 million and coordinate with project teams to transition from bid to proposal.

You should have a trade school education and a Journeyman License, plus deep knowledge of the Baltimore and Washington DC area and a track record in contracting. This role offers a hybrid schedule and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years mechanical engineering office/field experience in contracting.
• Trade school education in a relevant field.
• A valid Journeyman License.
• Extensive knowledge of the Baltimore and Washington DC area.
• Proven conceptual estimating experience.
• Experience estimating mechanical projects up to $10 million.
• Proficiency in transitioning from bid to proposal.
• Experience with Quote Soft estimating software.
• Strong understanding of HVAC installation and pipe fitting.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.

Responsibilities

• 1. Utilizing your knowledge and experience in HVAC and pipe fitting to develop comprehensive, detailed, and accurate estimates for our mechanical construction projects.
• 2. Applying your knowledge of the Baltimore and Washington DC area to assess project feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
• 3. Leveraging your conceptual estimating experience to develop innovative strategies for project execution and cost-saving.
• 4. Coordinating with the project team to transition from a bid to a proposal, ensuring all project specifications, requirements, and timelines are accurately captured.
• 5. Using Quote Soft estimating software to prepare cost estimates, and analyzing data to determine cost benefits and financial impact.
• 6. Collaborating with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project scope, requirements, and potential challenges.
• 7. Reviewing technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications to ensure accurate cost estimation.
