Job summary

Shimizu North America is seeking a Mechanical Estimator with at least five years of experience to lead end-to-end quantity take-offs and cost estimates for mechanical systems on projects of varying size. You will coordinate with the estimating team to support production, evaluation, and verification of bids.

Responsibilities include taking off piping, ductwork, sheet metal, HVAC equipment; preparing bid documents; coordinating with design and field teams; and visiting sites when required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of estimating experience in commercial/industrial construction.
• End-to-end take-off and cost estimating for mechanical systems.
• Ability to solicit subcontractor quotes and prepare bid documents.
• Proficiency with estimating software and MS Office suite.
• Knowledge of CSI MasterFormat and construction methods.
• Experience with field coordination and reading drawings/specs.

Responsibilities

• Lead quantity take-off for mechanical systems incl. HVAC, piping, ductwork.
• Prepare conceptual and detailed estimates based on limited drawings.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors during bids.
• Develop bid packages with complete scopes, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Review and refine estimates with Estimating team; support site visits as needed.
• Produce professional proposals and maintain bid timelines.
