Job summary

System One, Inc. in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator with strong HVAC and piping experience to lead detailed estimates for commercial and industrial projects.

You will review drawings and specifications, perform quantity takeoffs, and develop labor, material, and subcontractor costs for bids up to $50 million, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness. Qualifications

• 5+ years of mechanical estimating experience.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and piping.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings.
• Experience with takeoffs and cost estimation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed estimates for HVAC, mechanical piping, and related systems.
• Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.
• Perform quantity takeoffs for equipment, ductwork, piping, insulation, fittings, valves, and other materials.
• Develop labor, material, equipment, subcontractor, and project cost estimates.
• Prepare estimates for projects ranging from smaller commercial to up to $50 million+.
• Solicit and evaluate pricing from vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Analyze subcontractor and supplier proposals for scope, exclusions, and pricing accuracy.
• Identify potential risks, scope gaps, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Develop bid proposals and supporting documentation.
• Work with project managers and engineers during estimating and preconstruction.
• Participate in bid reviews and turnover meetings.
• Assist with value engineering and constructability reviews.
• Maintain estimating documentation and historical cost data.
