Job summary

KLA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design the next-generation multi-DOF ultra-precision motion stages for high-vacuum environments used in eBeam inspection and review. You will push nanometer-level accuracy, drive from concept through validation, and partner closely with controls, systems, and manufacturing teams.

The role requires a PhD/masters/bachelors with 3–8 years in precision mechanics, DFM, and FEA, plus experience with Creo/SolidWorks.

Qualifications

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with experience in motion systems, precision mechanics, or mechatronics.
Proficiency in Creo/SolidWorks and FEA analyses.
DFM experience across machining, sheet metal, and castings; working knowledge of Python or MATLAB.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain mechanical architecture of high-precision motion stages for eBeam inspection and review.
Select low-outgassing vacuum-compatible materials and hardware.
Perform modal and structural analyses and drive design reviews from concept to qualification.
Collaborate with controls, systems, and manufacturing teams to optimize performance and manufacturability.
Own supplier engagement for precision parts and tooling; ensure safety-by-design.
