Celestica, Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer & Team Lead to define the physical architecture of our heavy-duty product lineup and guide its mechanical execution from concept to field commissioning.

This dual-impact role leads a mechanical design team, owns DFMA across the lifecycle, and coordinates with Electrical, Systems, and Certification teams to ensure safe, manufacturable enclosures and transportable skids. Remote position with travel.

Qualifications

• 7+ years hands-on mechanical design experience in power distribution or modular E-house industry.
• 2+ years leading CAD designers and junior engineers.
• Proven track record delivering complex assemblies from concept to high-volume manufacturing or field deployment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the mechanical engineering design team.
• Drive Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) across the lifecycle with fabrication shops.
• Collaborate with Electrical, Systems, and Certification teams to ensure enclosure layouts meet clearances and regulatory requirements.
• Architect robust heavy structural frames and enclosures for ultra-heavy power equipment.
• Design integrated lifting lugs, rigging interfaces, and analyze transport forces.
• Define physical testing procedures for prototype validation and structural verification.
