Job summary

Dematic is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with extensive experience to design complex systems integrating hardware and software. You will collaborate with project managers and customers to deliver projects across the U.S., traveling as required and mentoring a team of engineers.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field, plus 7 years of experience and 2 years with CET Maestro, AutoCAD, and Amazon installation types. Telecommuting from within the U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer or related occupation.
• 2+ years of experience with CET Maestro; AutoCAD; Amazon installation types (sortable, non-sort, AR, IXD, SSD, Air Hub); MTBH and rates for typical systems and sub-systems; knowledge of current and legacy material handling solutions and equipment.
• Willingness to travel approximately 25% across the U.S.
• Located at Dematic HQ or telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Designs complex systems that integrate hardware and software.
• Resolves complex problems and applies solutions to most situations.
• Performs technical knowledge transfer for processes and products to system design.
• Proposes ideas for productivity, cost reduction and customer satisfaction improvement.
• Creates and verifies bill of materials and orders equipment for on-time delivery.
• Manages project budgets and schedules.
• Reviews drawings for onsite installation and creates permit drawing sets as needed.
• Travels to site to assist with project execution.
• Collaborates with installation/project managers and customers to deliver projects.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to engineers; manages a team of Mechanical Engineers within a project/program.
