Job summary

Kratos Space Training & Cyber seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead design and analysis for integrated mechanical systems. You will translate requirements into assemblies, drawings and models for production, testing, and deployment.

You will perform stress analyses, coordinate with manufacturing and systems teams, and drive risk mitigation. Knowledge of MBD, BIM tools, and Python is highly valued; on-site collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license or EIT certification required.
• Experience with naval or industrial power plants preferred.
• Proficiency with Model Based Design (MBD).
• Experience with BIM, Revit, CostPoint, SolidWorks/SolidWorks PDM, Jama, TipQA.

Responsibilities

• Leads design of assemblies and structures for integrating complex mechanical systems digitally before production.
• Performs stress and structural analyses for strength, durability and safety under various loads.
• Decomposes high-level requirements into detailed tasks for engineering work.
• Generates concepts, drawings, models and documentation for manufacturing and testing.
• Reviews and communicates metrics for technical and schedule progress.
• Identifies risks and proposes mitigation strategies for designs and manufacture.
• Collaborates with manufacturing, systems and simulator teams to ensure feasible integration.
