Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead the design, analysis, integration, testing, and production transition of weapon systems and aerospace hardware.

You will coordinate across mechanical, electrical, RF, and systems teams, drive risk reduction, and oversee test plans from concept through flight testing to production readiness.

Qualifications

• BS in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering and 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience with structural, thermal and CFD analyses for flight hardware.
• Able to lead tests, reviews, and flight demonstrations.
• Clear communication with customers, program managers, and military stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and analysis for weapon system hardware from concept to production.
• Perform structural, thermal, and CFD analyses for survivability and flight environments.
• Define and manage hardware test plans including environmental qualification.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams and brief milestones to leadership.
• Mentor junior engineers and support transitions to production.
