Barrette Workforce Solutions, LLC is seeking a seasoned Mechanical Engineer to support heavy industrial operations in a steel environment. You will troubleshoot and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems, lead reliability initiatives, and manage capital projects from concept to completion.

The role involves upgrades to melting/steelmaking equipment, large environmental systems, and cross-functional collaboration with maintenance, operations, and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
• 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience in steelmaking or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of industrial mechanical equipment, hydraulics, and plant systems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, improve, and optimize mechanical and hydraulic systems across the facility.
• Lead reliability initiatives to increase uptime and efficiency.
• Support melting and steelmaking equipment upgrades and installations.
• Provide engineering support for large baghouse and environmental systems.
• Lead capital and facility improvement projects from concept through completion.
• Develop scopes, specifications, bids, estimates, and schedules.
• Evaluate suppliers, review proposals, and manage outside resources.
• Coordinate with internal teams to keep projects moving and within budgets.
