Job summary

Y-12 National Security Complex is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and specify specialty equipment including gloveboxes and high vacuum systems. You will prepare drawings, specs, and analyses for procurement, fabrication, testing, and installation.

The role emphasizes teamwork, project leadership, and a multidisciplinary design approach within the Projects Equipment Design organization. DOE clearance is required or obtainable.

Qualifications

• BS in an ABET-accredited engineering program (US/Canada/Mexico/WA Accord)
• GPA 3.0/4.0 (Bachelor); higher for advanced degrees
• DOE 426.2A experience requirements apply
• PE license preferred but not required

Responsibilities

• Design and develop detailed equipment design packages
• Create specifications and datasheets for equipment
• Perform analyses (FEA, MBD, heat transfer, structural/seismic) and calculations
• Support fabrication, testing, and installation activities
