Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to own the PMAD enclosure packaging for the TeraWave system. You will drive concepts through qualification, support production, and influence design for manufacturability at spacecraft scale.

The role requires leadership, hands-on mechanical fabrication ability, and extensive experience with thermal and structural analyses in a spaceflight context. WA-based, on-site with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or closely related field.
• 7+ years designing ruggedized electronic enclosures or high-reliability avionics packaging.

Responsibilities

• Own the full mechanical design of the PMAD avionics enclosure from concept through qualification and production release.
• Define mechanical requirements, ICDs, and design specifications with cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain 3D CAD models, drawings, installation drawings and documentation.
• Perform structural analyses (static, modal, vibration, shock) and report margins.
• Lead design trade studies for packaging architecture and producibility.
• Mentor junior engineers and review designs and documentation.
