Job summary

Blue Origin in Seattle is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer IV to lead mechanical design and packaging for RF payload hardware in the TeraWave network. You will bridge mechanical, RF and electrical teams, guide architecture studies, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring manufacturability and reliability across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 8+ years in mechanical design and packaging of complex electronic hardware systems.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools (CATIA, SolidWorks, NX).
• Experience with structural and thermal analyses (analytical or FEA).
• Experience applying GD&T per ASME Y14.5.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and packaging of mechanical structures for phased array antennas and RF payload hardware assemblies.
• Direct thermal management strategies for high-power RF payload electronics with reliability requirements.
• Perform structural and thermal analyses, including tolerance stack-ups, to validate designs.
• Lead architecture trade studies for mechanical packaging across programs.
• Serve as technical lead coordinating with electrical and RF teams.
