Job summary

Corning Inc. in the United States seeks a Mechanical Engineer III to lead maintenance and reliability in a solar wafer production environment. You will troubleshoot complex equipment, drive corrective actions, and document procedures to boost uptime.

This hands-on engineer partners with maintenance, production, quality, and other engineering teams; manages PM programs, spare parts, and equipment history, while ensuring safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience improving equipment reliability, maintainability, and performance in a high-volume setting.
• Proficiency with CMMS, preventive maintenance, and equipment documentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on troubleshooting and engineering support for plant equipment and operations.
• Identify root causes and implement corrective actions to improve safety and reliability.
• Lead reliability and continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve performance.
• Manage spare parts strategy and strengthen maintenance programs.
• Maintain CMMS content, PM tasks, and equipment history for effective maintenance.
• Ensure safety through LOTO and safe work practices; document procedures.
• Collaborate with maintenance, production, quality, and other engineers on improvements.
• Execute equipment-related projects including installations and upgrades.
