Job summary

Array Tech, Inc. is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer – Sustaining to lead the development and support of solar tracker components and next-generation products.

You will drive product vision, innovation, and improvements, collaborating with management, engineering, and other departments to select state-of-the-art technologies. You will utilize CAD/FEA/DFMA tools, manage design reviews, and mentor engineers while ensuring plans meet targets and roadmaps.

Qualifications

• 10+ years developing mechanical components and systems.
• 8+ years performing mechanical engineering hand-calculations.
• 8+ years designing structural components and hardware, gearing and/or drivetrains.
• 8+ years utilizing FEA, DFMA and design for cost.
• 5+ years using 3D CAD software.
• 5+ years defining design validation tests.
• 4+ years in Stage Gate Product Development Processes.
• 2+ years using SolidWorks.
• 10+ years using Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead responses to engineering change requests for assigned parts and sub-assemblies.
• Lead root cause analysis, tests, and redesigns for field failures.
• Mentor developing engineers and provide direction to cross-functional teams.
• Lead system-level efforts to improve installed products and road maps.
• Develop and review design records, DRDs, and test plans.
• Create design concepts with SolidWorks; evaluate with DFMA/DFMEA/DFEA.
• Coordinate with Quality on inspection and test plans for new components.
• Communicate development schedules and progress to management.
