Job summary

Sayres & Associates, LLC seeks a Mechanical Engineer with an active SECRET clearance in Mobile, AL. The engineer will support the PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management team, providing SME expertise for mechanical systems on various hulls.

Responsibilities include design reviews, analyses, and shipboard installation support. Minimum of 7 years' ship design experience and a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering are required; a Master's is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of design experience in ship design, work packages, in-service mods, detail drawings, and analysis with ABS and military specs.
• Proficiency with 3D modeling and ship system integration.
• Ability to evaluate systems in 3D environments and understand interfaces with other design teams.
• Experience with Navisworks, PIPE-FLO, 2D drawings, hand calcs and standards.

Responsibilities

• Support PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management as SME for mechanical systems.
• Conduct design reviews and oversee shipboard installation activities.
• Lead analyses and simulations to optimize ship systems performance.
• Collaborate on contract and detail design activities for ship construction.
• Provide technical support throughout the shipbuilding lifecycle.
