Job summary

Sayres and Associates Corporation seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer with an active SECRET clearance, based in Mobile, AL. You will support the PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management team, delivering SME expertise for mechanical systems on assigned hulls including T-AGOS, T-AO, T-ATS, T-AOL, T-ARC, and service craft.

The role requires 7+ years in ship design and hands-on experience with 3D modeling, ABS/military specs, and ship system integration.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
7+ years of design experience in ship design, work packages, and in-service modifications.
Experience implementing ABS and military specifications and requirements.
3D modeling and ship system integration experience.
Active Secret Clearance verifiable in DISS/JPAS.

Responsibilities

Support PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management with SME input for mechanical systems.
Contribute to concept, feasibility, preliminary, detail design, and construction activities.
Perform independent design reviews of mechanical components and systems to meet standards.
Provide technical support during shipboard installation and integration.
Conduct advanced mechanical analyses and simulations to optimize ship systems.
