Job summary

Sayres is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer with an active SECRET clearance in Mobile, AL. You will support PMS 300/325 Ship Design Management, providing SME expertise for mechanical systems on hulls such as T-AGOS, T-AO, T-ATS, T-AOL, T-ARC, and Service Craft.

You will conduct design reviews, perform analyses, and support shipboard installation while collaborating with the Gov't design team and shipbuilder to meet ABS and military specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 7 years of design experience in ship design/construction.
• Experience with ABS and military specifications.
• Strong 3D modeling and system integration experience.
• Active Secret Clearance verifiable in DISS/JPAS.
• Ability to perform design reviews and support shipboard installation.

Responsibilities

• Support concept to detail design studies for ship systems.
• Provide SME expertise for mechanical design on hull programs (e.g. T-AGOS, T-AO, T-ATS, T-AOL, T-ARC).
• Contribute to design reviews and shipboard installation activities.
• Conduct advanced mechanical analysis and simulations for performance optimization.
• Support in-service ship design and engineering activities for efficiency.
• Assist in special studies and evaluations to improve ship systems.
